Christmas Message to Ghanaians – Christian Council

Rev. Dr. Kwabena Opuni-Frimpong, CCG General Secretary

LET GOD’S GIFT INFLUENCE YOUR LIFE

The Christian Council of Ghana (CCG) wishes all Ghanaians a Merry Christmas. We thank God for the successful elections and the diligent and mature conduct Ghanaians exhibited during the electioneering process.

By God’s grace the nation is journeying towards the end of the year and Christmas has beckoned on us again.

Christmas is a period of joyous celebrations because it gives us the opportunity not only to remember but also reflect on the Grace and Mercy that God revealed to mankind in His Only begotten Son Jesus Christ; “for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16).

The Council wishes to draw the attention of all to the fact that one of the Central Messages of Christmas is God’s gift to the world. God offered His Son as a free gift to humankind for our redemption. In Christ we find abundance of grace, mercy, forgiveness and love for all human beings.

We therefore call on the people of God that as we celebrate Christmas, let us appreciate God’s gift to us, His Son Jesus Christ. As we celebrate Christmas we are calling on Ghanaians to appreciate our need for God and our sufficiency in Him.

We also urge Ghanaians to not only appreciate Christ but also receive Him into our lives. We must accept God’s gift as our source of life and reason for our existence. There is a need for us to accept that we are only complete in Christ and without Him we can do nothing.

More so, we call on everybody to allow the life of Jesus Christ to influence our attitudes and way of life. We need to allow Christ to influence every endeavour of our society including politics and governance, family life, public discourse, health etc.

We wish all Ghanaians a Merry Christmas and call for modesty in all that we do during the Christmas festivities.

God Bless you.

Signed

Rev. Dr. Kwabena Opuni-Frimpong

General Secretary
