CCG And GPCC Joint Meeting Takes Place In Accra
The Christian Council of Ghana and the Ghana Pentecostal And Charismatic Council have held their annual Joint Meeting in Accra.
The program which took place at the Presbyterian Church of Ghana Head Office in Osu, brought together leaders of the two Christian bodies to discuss issues that will deepen the bond of the two bodies.
Issues also discussed at the meeting were matters of national concern and how they could be addressed.
Present at the meeting were Rev. Dr. Cyril G.K Fayose, General Secretary of the Christian Council of Ghana, Most Rev. Dr. Paul Kwabena Boafo, Immediate past Chairman of the Christian Council of Ghana and Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church Ghana, Rev. Emmanuel T. Barrigah, General Secretary of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council, Rev. Dr. Ernest Adu-Gyamfi, Chairman of the National Peace Council, Moses Foh Amoaning, Executive Secretary of the National Coalition for Proper Human Sexual Rights and Family Values as well as a host of leaders from member churches under the two Christian Bodies.

Human Rights and Gender
The Council believes that the right of citizens, especially women, children and the disabled should be protected by all. In view of that, it works to ensure that there is respect for fundamental human right which includes the right to live, the right to education, the right to free speech and the right to movement with the view of ensuring peace. Council’s work in the area of HIV/AIDS, advocacy for Food Security and Worse forms of Child trafficking reflect the right based approach to its activities.
Interfaith and Ecumenism
The Council connects with other Christian bodies such as the Ghana Pentecostal Council (GPC), National Association of Charismatic and Christian Churches (NACCC) and the Council of Independent Churches (CIC) to foster peace and advance social issues and Christianity.
